Job Description:

Our client, an established technology infrastructure organization, is seeking a skilled Estimator with experience in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and structured cabling to support projects in the Houston market. This role plays a critical part in driving new business by producing accurate, competitive estimates and well-structured proposals for commercial and industrial projects.

The Estimator works closely with Sales and Operations leadership from pre-bid through project handoff to ensure projects are properly scoped, priced, and positioned for successful execution. This role requires balancing accuracy, strategic pricing, and speed in a competitive bidding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for DAS and structured cabling projects
  • Analyze RFPs, construction drawings, specifications, and related bid documentation
  • Complete material take-offs and develop labor projections for installation work
  • Develop professional and competitive proposals for commercial and industrial projects
  • Identify scope gaps, project risks, and cost optimization opportunities
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Support project award handoff and ensure smooth transition to operations teams
  • Assist with shop drawings, labeling plans, and post-award documentation as needed
  • Price change orders, scope revisions, and project adjustments
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Follow company standards related to safety, quality, and professionalism

Education & Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of estimating experience in low-voltage, telecommunications, DAS, or structured cabling environments
  • Strong understanding of bid strategy, job costing, and construction documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam or similar tools preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
