Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Project Scheduler who is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules for low-voltage structured cabling, audio-visual, and security system installations. This role ensures that labor, materials, subcontractors, and internal resources are effectively aligned to meet project timelines.

The Project Scheduler works closely with project managers, field supervisors, procurement teams, and clients to support accurate forecasting and on-time project delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Management

  • Develop detailed project schedules for structured cabling, security, and audio-visual installations including fiber, copper, LED walls, cameras, pathways, access control, racks, wireless systems, and data center infrastructure
  • Break down project scope into scheduled tasks, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Maintain and update schedules throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Adjust project timelines based on field conditions, change orders, material lead times, or resource availability
  • Track project progress and proactively identify schedule risks or delays

Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align schedules with project scope, budgets, and deliverables
  • Coordinate with field supervisors to validate task durations, labor requirements, and crew availability
  • Communicate schedule updates and potential impacts to project stakeholders
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and provide schedule updates and forecasting

Resource & Material Planning

  • Forecast labor requirements and identify potential resource constraints
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, hardware, and equipment
  • Monitor vendor and subcontractor timelines to ensure alignment with the master project schedule

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly and monthly scheduling reports for leadership and project stakeholders
  • Track and document schedule deviations and recovery strategies
  • Support development of project dashboards and visual progress reporting tools

Process Improvement

  • Analyze historical project schedules to identify opportunities for improved planning accuracy
  • Support development of standardized scheduling templates and best practices for technology infrastructure projects
  • Recommend workflow improvements to reduce schedule risk and increase operational efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the telecommunications, low-voltage, or technology infrastructure industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of cabling installation phases including rough-in, cable pull, termination, testing, labeling, and documentation
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or similar platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, network diagrams, and scopes of work
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI knowledge or certifications (e.g., BICSI Technician, RCDD awareness)
  • Experience with ERP or project management platforms such as Procore, Monday.com, or similar tools
  • Experience working in data center, commercial, or industrial cabling environments
  • Familiarity with Gantt charts, critical path analysis, and resource leveling methodologies

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Primarily office-based environment with occasional site visits

Ability to walk active construction sites to verify installation progress when required
